Text: 2 Kings 4:1-7

๐Ÿ“–2….”And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
๐Ÿ“–3….Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
๐Ÿ“–5….So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
๐Ÿ“–6….And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.”

Message:

๐Ÿ”ฅThe widow’s house is like the Bible that some of us read without gaining anything from, because of our spiritual blindness. If not that she was spiritually blind, why would she cry for solution to Elisha in vs 1, when right in her house, laid the way to escape?…1 Cor 10:13. This is how so many believers keep running away from the blessings in their Churches in search of what God has already positioned in their pockets. Beloved, search your pockets and purses; there is an asset there. This happens if you don’t value what you have, like Esau in Genesis 25:29-34.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅAssets are useful or valuable items around a person, that can be used to settle problems. But if God doesn’t open your eyes, you wouldn’t know both the availability and usefulness of what you are looking for abroad, that is by your side. Our text shows the consequences of the debt owed by a Prophet’s son. He lived a life of debt because he refused to follow the footsteps of his father. His father was a prophet, but who was he? A debtor; for refusing to be a serious believer or a prophet. Just like most of us are often overwhelmed by the problems whose solutions are at sight, yet unseen. The woman never saw her solution, until God used Elisha to open her eyes.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅWhen people see disabilities and disadvantages around them, they report their sorrows to God as prayers. Meanwhile, Jesus said in John 15:7 and 16:23 that, we should search our pockets if we are abiding in him, and whatever we don’t have in our pockets and purses, should be reported to the Father in his name, and the Father shall give it to us. The woman, like many believers, was preoccupied with the problem without seeing the solution right in her house. Beloveth, that bottle of oil in your house, the empty vessels, and the mustard seed faith, are all you need to have the floodgate of blessings hiding in your pockets to be unleashed into your destiny.

SOULS ACTIVITIES:

๐Ÿ™Heavenly Father, I reject every veil that beclouds my understanding, any time am reading the Bible in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™O Lord, help me never to deviate from my spiritual father’s worthy footsteps into spiritual indebtedness in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Bountiful Father, cure me from the blindness of not seeing your floodgates of success in me, in Jesus’ name.
