Text: Mark 10:46-52

๐Ÿ“–46….”And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
๐Ÿ“–47….And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
๐Ÿ“–48….And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
๐Ÿ“–49….And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.”

Message:

๐Ÿ”ฅA blind man is like a believer who doesn’t fellowship with God. The blind man is in the world, but he doesn’t understand the colours, shapes, sizes of things, and the differences between the structural composition of people. This is how the story of the blind Bartimaeus fits the unregenerate man. He doesn’t understand the spiritual implications of Church issues. But when the blind man in our text realized his incapacitation, he made the God who was neither blind nor incapacitated to both hear and see him.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅObserve in verse 47 that, even though he was blind, he heard about Jesus of Nazareth. He was blind, yet he trusted that the Jesus he had never seen his miracles, would perform a miracle in him, and so cried out for him. Even though he was discouraged by people (vs 48), he refused to stop going to the Church to shout and cry for God’s mercy, which was and is in Jesus Christ. He was blind, but Jesus stood still for him. He was blind, but Jesus called and told him to be of good comfort. This made him to cast away his begging garment…verse 50.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅWhile most healthy believers are creating excuses like Moses in Exodus 4, so they won’t be in Church, the blind man used his disability to his advantage. What are you doing with your supposed wellness, brethren? Why not turn them to strength by a shout of faith? The blind son of Timaeus would have remained blind if his shout had not drawn Jesus to him. If your blindness, or other problems do not draw Jesus to you, your shout of faith in praises, worship, services, and giving, would. Shout out your faith today, and stand Jesus still at the points of all your challenges and crisis.

SOULS ACTIVITIES:

๐Ÿ™Dear Lord, no matter how spiritually blind I am, reveal yourself to me through my shout of faith during worship, praises and services, in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Precious Father, build me by your Spirit, against whatever form of discouragement that may come between me and my faith in you, in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Thank you Father, for overlooking my weaknesses, and accepting my shout of faith in you through Jesus Christ.
