PRAYING THE LORD’S PRAYER

PRAYING THE LORD’S PRAYER

=====PRAYING THE LORD’S PRAYER=====

Richard Dean Gazowsky once wrote that the Lord’s Prayer is a prayer outline. It is not meant to be recited. Instead, it should be prayed systematically. Below are the guidelines to praying the LORD’S PRAYER.

STEP ONE:

“Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.” – Matt. 6:9

Every believer must recognize that the Father they believe in, is in Heaven, yet controls everything on earth. This differentiates the Almighty God from every other gods. While other powers and gods are on earth, and operate from the earth, our God, the ULTIMATE POWER, operates from Heaven. This is while only him is worthy of worship. Only him can be hallowed!

To hallow is to praise and adore God’s Holy Name.
Always begin prayer with praises. Especially prayer at bedtime, morning devotion or quiet time prayer. These are scheduled prayers. They are different from situational or circumstantial prayers such as prayer or thanksgiving before meal, which are normally done without any praise singing.

… My heavenly father, I thank you for all you have done for me. Hallowed be your name. I praise you for your greatness in provision.

*Jehovah JIREH – The LORD’S provision shall be seen. Thank you Father for sending the rain, and for providing enough to meet all my needs, etc. Psalms 8.

*Jehovah SHAMMAH – The LORD is there. By praising God with this name, you praise His consistency at being there. So when you are in any circumstance, call upon this His name – no wonder the Bible says for everything give thanks because God is there. Psalm 139:7-11.

*JEHOVAH NISSI – The LORD IS MY BANNER
This is a declaration of God’s strength, and His ability to make a way in the desert. Lord, you are like a strong tower, your power moves through me like the power of locomotives. Your love is as strong as the cable of a bridge. I see your strength in the moving of the tide. I liken your power to the force of the wind Ex. 17:15.

*JEHOVAH SHALOM – The LORD IS MY PEACE
Matthew 8:25-26. How he rebuked the storm in the Sea of Galilee and there was a great calm and peace when the disciples though they were perishing. Peace upon demon possessed, etc. Judg. 6:24.

*JEHOVAH RAAH – the LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
The shepherding of God has always referred to how He guides our mental though processes. We are the sheep of his pasture. We are like sheep intellectually, for our minds are fooled constantly. But with His shepherding, we are continually put aright by the rod and the staff as such we lack nothing. Because Satan is constantly bombarding us with anti-God information, we need to praise God for leading us, guiding us, and protecting us from mental pollution.

*JEHOVAH TSIDKENU – The LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
Praising God in this name makes it possible for us to stand in His presence with boldness. When God sees us, He sees us through the cleansing power of Jesus’ BLOOD unto righteousness. This puts the picture of His passion on Calvary on our minds.

*JEHOVAH ROPHE – I am the LORD THAT HEALETH THEE
Praise Him in his ability to heal you and for past healing. Praise him for answering healing prayers. Samples of people healed.

*JEHOVAH EL SHADDAI – The ALMIGHTY God
God is greater than every other name in heaven or earth. He is so great that even the LEVIATHAN bows to His greatness. “Shad” means breast in Hebrew.

*JESUS – The LORD is our SAVIOUR.

This is the name above every other name of GOD.
