Topic: COMMITMENT: WILL YOU ALSO GO AWAY? 2

Bible Reading: Luke 22:31-34

๐Ÿ“–31โ€ฆ.”And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
๐Ÿ“–32โ€ฆ.But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33โ€ฆ.And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34โ€ฆ.And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.”

Message:

๐Ÿ”ฅThe question of Jesus in John 6:67, is a call for deep thoughts. Although Peter answered in verse 68 that, to whom would he go, seeing that Jesus had the word of life, yet later in Luke 22:54-62, he followed Jesus from afar, and denied him thrice. But for the foreknowledge of Christ in Luke 22:31-32, and Christ’s intercession for him, Peter would have fallen completely out of the faith and grace. But another question is, why did Jesus prayed Peter out of his fall, but he doesn’t always pray all his followers from their forthcoming predicaments? The answer is commitment.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅWhen you see some ministers appearing to be more favoured than others in different or same denominations, don’t see God as being partial. It is only a display and manifestation of the different circles of commitment such pastors and believers are operating in the faith. The more dedicated and committed a called servant of God is to his calling, the more God through him shows Himself mighty in spiritual gifts and power (2 Chro 16:9a).

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅThe importance of commitment cannot be overemphasized because it makes the Lord to fight our battles for us, as seen in our Bible reading above. If Peter wasn’t committed, he wouldn’t have said in Luke 22:33 that he could go into prison and die with Jesus. Peter was not just making such assertions, but he was super serious. As soon as Jesus called him in Matthew 4:18-19, quitted his fishing vocation, and followed Jesus in verse 20. Beloveth, what have you left to follow Jesus, to prove your commitment?

SOULS ACTIVITIES:

๐Ÿ™O Lord, erase from me, whatever will make me to follow you afar off, that is capable of reducing my commitment to you, in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Dear Lord, build in me, the commitment that will always make Jesus’ intercession for me in heaven to protect me, in Jesus’ name.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™Precious Father, disallow me by your wisdom in me, from choosing any vocation or business that leads men’s heart away from you, in Jesus’ name.
