Topic: COMMITMENT: WILL YOU ALSO GO AWAY? 4

Bible Reading: Matthew 16:15-17

📖15….”He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
📖16….And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
📖17….And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”

Message:

🔥Commitment is birthed by knowledge. We are committed to our biological families because we know them in details. Jesus didn’t commit himself to man because he knew the works of man (John 2:24-25). So, his total commitment unto God (Luke 23:46), was a result of his complete knowledge of God, and because of his conviction that there was neither deception, failure, nor disappointment in God. Whoever is totally committed to God in trust and devotion submissively, will always reap the fruits of God’s promises as Simon Peter enjoyed.

🔥🔥Talking about Simon Peter, means talking about the successor of Jesus. In 1 Cor 10:4, the Bible refers to Jesus Christ as the Rock. Meanwhile, the first day Jesus saw Simon bar Jonas in John 1:42, he renamed him, Cephas, which means Petros, translated Peter, a Stone. Simon was not named Peter by influence, but because of Simon’s contents and heart disposition. Beloved believers, what was your heart makeup that moved you to be a Christian? Is it for personal benefits, or to offer yourself as a sacrifice for God in service?

🔥🔥🔥It was the service Jesus saw in Simon that made him to name him his successor on first encounter. Same with Oshea that Moses made his successor by renaming him Jehoshua in Numbers 13:16, because he saw unwavering commitment in him. The spirit of service in Peter, made him to identify Jesus as the Messiah to follow. This commitment afforded him God’s Church and kingdom keys in Matt 16:18-19, volunteering to build 3 tabernacles in Matt 17:4, and finally being made the head of the Church in John 21:15-17. Beloved BoLD readers, it is never too late to be committed to God. Remain rooted in the Church, and see God establishing you, according to Colossians 2:6-7.

SOULS ACTIVITIES:

🙏Dear Lord, reveal yourself to me more as I remain totally committed to you in Jesus’ name.

🙏🙏Omniscient Father, use your total knowledge of my commitment to you in sacrificial services, to rename me for greater privileges in the faith, in Jesus’ name.

🙏🙏🙏Dependable father, as Simon Peter’s commitment and resilience in Christ afforded him the kingdom keys, may my commitment pull me out of the miry clays of life, in Jesus’ name.
