Topic: THE CHALLENGED
Text: Luke 22:31-32
📖31….”And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
📖32….But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
🔥Many a time when we see people who are not using their legs properly, we call them cripples. But there are many of us who are not using all our natural body parts properly, yet are not called crippled or disabled. Some people don’t use their brains well, yet we don’t call them cripples. Others don’t even use their mouths properly, yet they are not derogatorily called cripples in the mouth. We only say such persons don’t know how to talk.
🔥🔥Many of us believers are actually spiritual cripples, if whoever doesn’t use his legs properly is a cripple. Permit me to exhort us with what happened in Luke 22:31-34. Peter was then, proudly looking at himself as someone who loved Jesus more than the rest disciples. But little did he know that he would soon have a crippled faith. If Jesus had not prayed for him, he would have had a Faith wreck because of satanic sifting. No wonder apostle Paul said in 1 Cor 10:12 that, let him that thinks he stands, take heed, lest he falls.
🔥🔥🔥Beloveth, let us strengthen one another in our different crippling circumstances by calling them challenges, because we all are challenged. When Peter remembered his fall in Matt 26:69-75, he had to defend Cornelius in Acts 11 after he ate with him in Acts 10. Many of us pastors could be termed as preaching from suspension, if sinners in our congregations must be given suspension. Some of us are living in sins yet suspending a Church member caught in sin. Let’s love one another and always strengthen ourselves. If any is suffering from physical, faith, spiritual, social, psychological, or even financial challenges – Luke 22:32b, those that are not challenged in any of those areas, should strengthen the challenged.
🙏Lord Jesus, since you know how challenging it is to live by faith in this sinful world, strengthen me each time am off rail, in Jesus’ name.
🙏🙏O Lord, let us be bound together in the church, with brotherly love so we don’t condemn or judge one another, in Jesus’ name.
🙏🙏🙏Precious father, as you trusted and worked with Peter after his fall, deliver us from our stumbling situations, and keep using us, in Jesus’ name.
