Topic: THE HOPE OF GLORY
Text: Colossians 1:27-28
📖27….To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
📖28….Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:”
Message:
🔥We follow Jesus because we want to become Christians. So, we are supposed to be called Christians only if Christ is seen in us by others. After Jesus ascended to Heaven in Acts 1:4-15, the followers were either called brethren or disciples. They were never called Christians. Later they were called believers in Acts 5:14. A believer is someone who believes and accepts that there is God, and that Jesus is the Son of that God. The followers of Jesus were not called Christians initially because Christ had not been formed in them even though they had believed in him.
🔥🔥To be called a Christian, you must bring forth fruits to show that Christ is living in you. So, a Christian is a believer that has grown into maturity in his faith and can now prove it with Christ agreeing to dwell in him. When Christ dwells in such, his mortal body becomes quickened Romans 8:11. Not by assumption, but in truth; else, no quickening. The believers had the Christian experience first in Acts 11:26. This was when Barnabas visited the believers in Antioch. As a result of Barnabas’ teachings, unbelievers saw Christ in their behaviour. And so called them CHRISTIANS. Which means CHRISTLIKE or LITTLE CHRISTS.
🔥🔥🔥This shows that a believer is called a believer by believers, while a believer is called a Christian by unbelievers. Beloveth, do unbelievers see Christ in you enough to call you a Christian? Or do you call yourself a Christian, or you are called a Christian by other Christians? Colossians 1:27 says if Christ is seen in you, you have the hope of glory. So, build Christ in yourself by faith, and become a Christian. Church leaders, teach until Christ be formed in your followers, instead of forming yourselves in them.

🙏Thank you father, for allowing your Son to be formed in me to give me the hope of glory.
🙏🙏O Lord, by my faith in you through Christ Jesus, quicken my mortal body and transform me into an adult Christian, in Jesus’ name.
🙏🙏🙏Heavenly Father, prevent me from forming either myself or structural buildings in our Church members, in Jesus’ name.
